Spiegel Restaurant is a restaurant located in the centre of Khmelnytskyi (formerly Proskuriv). It is one of the first buildings in Proskuriv. The house was built in the early 1900s by famous notary Isaac Spiegel. Today, this building is considered one of the cultural and historical monuments of Khmelnytskyi. The breath of history is felt in the house, preserved and filled not only in architecture, design, documents, photos of the old city, but also in gastronomic dishes.
The cuisine is somewhat local, some recipes date back to the twentieth century, but are presented in a modern interpretation. The place does not use ready-made store products in principle. The chefs bake their own bread, prepare yogurts, cheeses, noodles, drinks, sauces from products of Podillia region. Much attention is paid to dishes cooked in the oven, and this is what gives them a unique character.
The atmosphere in the Restaurant is always hospitable! And all the hustle and bustle of our century remains outside the door. The sound of soft music, lighted candles transport guests to the past and it seems that the owner of the house Isaac Spiegel is about to come out and say: “Thanks to all the guests for your choice!”.
In 2020, Spiegel Restaurant won the national restaurant award “Salt” as the best restaurant of Ukrainian cuisine.
