The official birthday of the theatre is March 3, 1970, as on this day the theatre debuted with The Rebel Jungle premiere. Like many culture institutions, puppet theatre has changed location several times during life.
Today Dyven Khmelnytskyi Puppet Theatre is one of the most powerful theatres in Ukraine. For more than 30 years the main director of the theatre is Serhii Mykolaiovych Bryzhan, and the main artist is Mykhailo Yuriiovych Nikolaiev. These artists are leading representatives of the Ukrainian poetic puppet theatre.
Dyven is a participant and winner of many national and international theatre festivals and competitions.
